"Acrobatic Gymnastics has been withdrawn from the competition program of the 2010 Pacific Rim Championships due to only two countries entering teams into the event. Gymnastics Australia as Pacific Rim hosts for 2010 introduced Acrobatic Gymnastics as a demonstration event in an attempt to further develop the sport internationally. In making the announcement, GA CEO Jane Allen expressed her disappointment of having to withdrawn the sport from the official program:
"We were initially happy with the provisional entries in December 2009 which showed 4 countries coming to Australia. Unfortunately at the close of the definite entries on February 11, only two countires (Australia being one) confirmed their entries. GA has no alternative but to withdraw the sport which was formally only a demonstration sport to encourage development of Acrobatic Gymnastics within the Pacific Rim countries. Any tickets sold to the Acrobatic Gymnastics session on Saturday 1st May will be refunded in due course. " - retirado daqui.
